McKENZIE RIVER
Fall through Winter Fishing Trips: Western Oregon - 1 DAY TRIPS, Spring - Fall fly-fishing trips
Located near Eugene, Oregon, the McKenzie River is a lively, crystal clear, Cascade river, which flows majestically through stretches of old growth forests. Douglas fir and Western redcedar create a two hundred foot canopy stretching above the forest floor of hemlock, fern, flowers and deciduous trees that line the river.
The McKenzie is one of the largest spring-fed river in the lower 48 with snowmelt filtering through the porous soil of the cascades before reaching the river up to ten years after falling as snow. This natural filtration system is what makes the aquifers of the McKenzie so amazingly clear.
There is no better view of Western Oregon than from the world famous McKenzie River. These one-day float trips combine top-notch fly-fishing with great scenery April through October. Fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout and is suitable for all ages and for any skill level from beginner to veteran. Your guide’s knowledge of casting and entomology enhances your ability to catch more fish while their knowledge of the river will make your trip an amazing journey.
Groups can be accommodated in several boats, meeting up for lunch, complete with a fish fry along the river. The group lunch allows the perfect opportunity to relax and exchange stories of the morning’s catch. Many of our regular anglers are world traveled, but make a special trip to the McKenzie every year. The changing scenery, wildlife, fishing, and friendly skilled guides will make your trip on the McKenzie a day to remember.
